Bird Portraits

I marvel at the avians' special transportation, a world apart from ours that offers freedom in the broadest sense. The fragility of their earthbound existence worries me. How could flight so easily represent freedom and ease while life on land seems to involve all that entails survival? Predators, locating and storing food, nest construction, family rearing... existence! This parallel existence has led me to look deeply at birds and document their portraits as one might photograph an important figure.
